Pelham Public Library and your community can benefit from your thoughtful, planned giving.

Your library is a registered charitable organization and relies on the support of donors for value-added programs, materials, services, technology and spaces. Your gift to Pelham Public Library helps the Library serve the community better.

Your Will can reflect your commitment to Pelham Public Library.  The following sample wording options for structuring a bequest through your Will should help you establish a legacy that best suits your needs and wishes.  It is very important that you consult with your legal and financial advisors when drafting your Will.

  1. Residual Bequest: “I direct my Executors to give ____% of the residue of my Estate to the Town of Pelham Public Library for use for highest priority needs as determined by the CEO of Pelham Public Library.”
  2. Legacy Bequest (specific amount): “I direct my Executors to give to the Town of Pelham Public Library the sum of $_____ to be used as highest priority needs as determined by the CEO of Pelham Public Library.”
  3. Restricted designation with clause to vary: “I direct my Executors to give to the Town of Pelham Public Library the sum of $______(or___% of my residue) to be used for the purpose of (examples could include: enhanced collections, program and services, endowment fund), provided that if such a purpose ceases to exist or ceases to be provided by Pelham Public Library, then the legacy shall not fail but the CEO of Pelham Public Library shall use such a legacy for a purpose which most closely resembles the purpose set out above.

The name you should include in your will to make a bequest to the Pelham Public Library is “the Town of Pelham Public Library”.
