Precautions

Due to health concerns about the spread of the coronavirus, Pelham Public Library has increased the wiping down all high-traffic places for touching (i.e. door handles, computer keyboards, etc.)  We have temporarily removed some seating in the Library to give people more space. We ask that library staff and public members follow the precautions below:

  • Please hold your library card out for library staff to scan without touching
  • Return all material in the external dropbox or on the designated cart in the Library
  • Wash your hands frequently (including after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose)
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Exercise proper coughing and sneezing etiquette (e.g., coughing/sneezing into the crook of the elbow instead of into hands)
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home when sick

Services Suspended

Our first concern is always the health and safety of everyone involved. Therefore, the following services have been suspended until further notice to reduce the risk of spreading the virus:

  • Programs are cancelled from March 14 – 20.
  • Interlibrary Loan requests. Any requests that have already been shipped from the lending library will continue to be processed. However, materials that are delivered for distribution to our members will be held for 5 days prior to processing.
  • Refreshments being provided during programs or sold within the library. This does not mean that you cannot bring your own refreshments into the library, but we ask that you dispense of any garbage in the available receptacles.
  • We will not be accepting donations of books, clothing or any other materials.
  • The spring Clothing Sale and spring Trivia Night will be postponed.
